The reality star revealed it took her a week to to calm down after his controversial comments, Kim Kardashian has admitted she cried and screamed when she found out about the drama Kanye West had caused with his widely condemned comments about slavery.
The star’s new album is a deeply personal record, and on Wouldn’t Leave, he raps about the fierce backlash he faced after he boldly told TMZ during a live interview that 400 years of slavery “sounds like a choice”.
On the track, he reveals Kim, 37, called him ‘screaming saying we’re about to lose it all’ after she found out what he’d said.
He raps: “They say, ‘Build your own,’ I said, ‘How, Sway? / I said, ‘Slavery a choice,’ they say, ‘How, Ye?’ / Just imagine if they caught me on a wild day / Now I’m on fifty blogs gettin’ fifty calls.
“Wife calling screaming saying we’re about to lose it all / I had to calm her down cause she couldn’t breathe / I told her she could leave me now but she wouldn’t leave.”
He goes on: “This is what they mean for better or for worse, huh?”
Speaking to Extra at the CFDA Fashion Awards, Kim confirmed she was furious with her husband of four years at the time and admitted she reacted with “screams”.
“I cried because it is a lot of what we went through,” the mum-of-three explained. “I know my husband has the best intentions. He has the biggest heart.
“I know his heart, so I know he’ll always have that chance to explain himself when the time is right.”
She went on: “This time I wasn’t so calm… I know what he meant so ultimately, after a week, I was calm… I think he explained it well in the song.”
